Important Claim Processing Updates
WPS acquired the processing system that was in place at Wheatlands on March 1, 2008, and therefore some claims processing issues continue. WPS staff has identified, recorded and is in the process of analyzing each issue to the full extent, and will take the appropriate corrective actions. Depending on the complexity of the problem, some of these issues may take an extended period of time to resolve. We ask for your patience in allowing us to resolve these issues.
Our staff is working to promptly identify, prioritize and resolve any pending or new issues identified after March 1, 2008. We are working with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and are asking provider associations to work with us to prioritize issues based on their relative impact to the provider community in terms of the number of providers affected and the dollar amount involved. WPS will initially focus on and work to resolve issues that have resulted in an underpayment.
Below is a temporary list of claim processing situations that have been identified. We will continue to update this page as additional situations are identified and resolved. Once all situations are resolved and this page is no longer needed, the information will be archived and future updates provided by Listserv. Click on the titles to access detailed updates.
