Kansas/Western Missouri/Nebraska Mass Adjustment Scheduled Claims Processing Alert - 77052 and 77057
The claims processing system was updated on August 18, 2008, to allow payment for CPT code 77057 to be payable for males and females. Based on the coding set for the sex restriction edit, claims for female beneficiaries were denied inappropriately. In situations where 77057 was billed along with add-on code 77052, 77057 was denied due to the sex restriction and the claim was split, deeming add-on code 77052 on the split claim as unprocessable.
A mass adjustment will be performed to correct all affected claims (Claims incorrectly processed include CPT codes 77057, 77057-26, and/or 77057-TC and CPT codes 77052, 77052-26, and/or 77052-TC billed for dates of service August 18, 2008, through September 5, 2008, and processed on August 18, 2008, through September 12, 2008.)
