Attention: G0001 is No Longer a Valid Code Effective January 1, 2005!
G0001 is no longer a valid code! WPS Medicare has received a number of claims that have been rejected with remark code CO-16, "unprocessable," because HCPCS code G0001 is used on the claim. Effective January 1, 2005, HCPCS code G0001 is deleted from the list of valid HCPCS codes. Also effective January 1, 2005, Medicare providers will no longer have a 90-day grace period to use discontinued HCPCS codes for services rendered in the first 90 days of the year (see article at:
