Enrollment Begins for WPS Health Insurance/Medco Medicare-approved Prescription Discount Card

Madison, WI -- May 3, 2004 Enrollment in the WPS Health Insurance/Medco Medicare-approved Preferred Prescription Discount Card Program is now just a phone call or a mouse click away, announced WPS Health Insurance and Medco Health Solutions (NYSE:MHS). Medco is one of 36 Medicare-approved prescription discount card sponsors.

Beginning May 3, all Medicare beneficiaries, including those who qualify for the Transitional Assistance $600 credit program, can sign up for the WPS Health Insurance/Medco Preferred Prescription Discount Card Program by calling (877) 659-5143 to enroll with a customer service representative, or by visiting WPS Health Insurance's website.

The WPS Health Insurance/Medco Preferred Prescription Discount Card offers Medicare-beneficiaries savings ranging up to 30 percent or more on virtually all brand and generic prescriptions approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The program also offers enrollees access to Medco's safe, convenient mail order pharmacy network, clinical expertise, award-winning online pharmacy, and network of more than 48,000 retail pharmacies nationwide.

"This is an important day for the Wisconsin Medicare beneficiaries who have been anxiously waiting to see how much they can save on their prescription medications by using a Medicare-approved discount card," said Bob Andrew, Vice President of WPS Marketing. "When beneficiaries look at the WPS Health Insurance/Medco card, they will see that it can offer significant savings on most medications, with even greater savings achieved by using generics, when appropriate, and by using mail order pharmacy."

Medicare beneficiaries interested in comparing medication costs using the WPS Health Insurance/Medco discount card can access this information via the Medco website. Here, potential enrollees and card members can also learn about ways to further reduce drug costs, obtain important health and prescription safety information, and manage their discount card account.

Medicare beneficiaries can also call Medco's Customer Care center and speak with a customer service representative about the program, and ways to maximize cost savings. Card holders can also speak with one of Medco's 1,800 highly skilled pharmacists about their medications.

The WPS Health Insurance/Medco Preferred Prescription Discount Card is available for an annual fee of $25. Additional information about Medicare-approved discount drug cards is available from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services by calling 1-800-MEDICARE or visiting www.medicare.gov.
