WPS Health Insurance Announces 2005 Ray Koenig Charitable Foundation Scholarship Recipients

WPS Health Insurance is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2005 Ray Koenig Charitable Foundation Scholarships for children of employees of WPS and its subsidiaries. Ray Koenig was the first President of WPS. Each scholarship winner receives a $1,000-a-year, four-year grant.

Ashley Ballweg graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in Sauk City. She is the daughter of Mark Ballweg and Lana Satterlee-Ballweg, WPS Plan Development Managed Care Director. Ashley will attend the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay where she plans to pursue foreign language and international studies.

Benjamin Ellefson graduated from Madison East High School and will attend the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point where he will pursue his interests in business. Benjamin is the son of Michael and Kris Ellefson, WPS TRICARE Business Analyst.

Stephanie Frietag graduated from James Madison Memorial High School. Stephanie is the daughter of Beverly and Steven Frietag, WPS Individual Sales Consultant. Stephanie will attend University of Colorado – Denver where she plans to major in environmental and biological engineering.

Stacey Monaghan graduated from Janesville Craig High School and will attend the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. Her goal is to go into speech pathology. Stacey is the daughter of Linda Monaghan, WPS TRICARE Entry Supervisor, and the late John Monaghan.

Michael Moriarty graduated from De LaSalle Collegiate in Warren, Michigan and will attend the University of Notre Dame. He is the son of William and Kathy Moriarty, who works in the WPS Southfield, Michigan Medicare office. Michael plans to major in engineering.

Gao Nhia (Jennifer) Vang graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High School and will attend University of Wisconsin – Stout where she plans to study business and marketing. She is the daughter of Leigh and Nyiaj Vang. Nyiaj is a Claims Resolution Processor at the WPS TRICARE office in Wausau.

Amanda Whisler graduated from Lake Mills High School and will attend the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where she plans to pursue international studies. Amanda is the daughter of Sandy and Richard Whisler, Senior Programmer Analyst for WPS.

In addition to the children of employees, WPS has awarded Ray Koenig Charitable Foundation Scholarships to one student from each of the following local high schools: La Follette, Madison East, and Monona Grove.

Eleanor Johnson graduated from Madison East High School with a 3.87 cumulative grade point average. She participated in band, choir, and drama and will attend the University of Wisconsin – Madison College of Letters and Science this fall.

Jessica Millard graduated from Madison La Follette High School with a 3.98 grade point average and was ranked 8th in her graduating class. Jessica will attend the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire this fall majoring in Business.

Sara Ann Ralph graduated from Monona Grove High School and was plans on attending the University of Mississippi this fall majoring in Mathematics or Education.
