WPS Health Insurance Announces 2006 Ray Koenig Charitable Foundation
Scholarship Recipients


WPS Health Insurance is pleased to announce the seven recipients of the 2006 Ray Koenig Charitable Foundation Scholarships for children of employees of WPS and its subsidiaries. Ray Koenig was the first President of WPS. Each scholarship winner receives a $1,000-a-year, four-year grant.
Kirk Baker Jr. Kirk Baker Jr. is graduating from Abbotsford High School in Abbotsford, WI, and will be attending Winona State University. Kirk is the son of Ann Patz, Claims Entry Operator, WPS TRICARE Wausau office.

Benjamin Christianson
is graduating from Madison La Follette High School, and will attend UW Platteville. Benjamin is the son of Kay Christianson, Unit Coordinator, WPS Claims Madison office.

Ashley Erickson Ashley Erickson is graduating from Sun Prairie High School and plans to attend UW LaCrosse in the fall. She is the daughter of Rick Erickson, Individual Sales Consultant in the Madison office.
Andrea Happli Andrea Happli is graduating from Mosinee High School. Andrea is the daughter of Cindy Happli, Claims Resolution Processor, WPS TRICARE Wausau office. Andrea will attend Carroll College.
Gretta Layman Gretta Layman is graduating from Chippewa Falls High School and will attend University of Minnesota - Mankato. Gretta is the daughter of Scott Layman, Plan Development Director, WPS Eau Claire office.
Amber McKoy Amber McKoy is graduating from Deerfield High School and is attending UW Whitewater in the fall. She is the daughter of Jeannine McKoy, Unit Coordinator, WPS TRICARE Madison office.
Gretchen Peters Gretchen Peters is graduating from Portage High School and will attend Luther College. Gretchen is the daughter of Doug Peters, Senior PA in Information Systems, and Peggy Peters, PA III in Information Systems, WPS Madison office.
Jamie Stroleny Jamie Stroleny is graduating from Beaver Dam High School in Beaver Dam, WI and is attending Illinois Wesleyan University School of Nursing in Bloomington, IL. She is the daughter of Yvonne Stroleny, Unit Coordinator, WPS TRICARE Madison office

In addition to the children of employees, WPS has awarded Ray Koenig Charitable Foundation Scholarships to one student from each of the following local high schools: La Follette, Madison East, and Monona Grove.

Jennifer Paul is graduating from Madison LaFollette High school and will attend either UW Whitewater or UW Platteville in the fall. Jennifer hopes to major in business and become a financial advisor some day.

Leah Walker is graduating from Madison East High School and will be attending UW LaCrosse in the fall. She participated in National Honor Society, Pep Band, Solo and Ensemble and Youth Troupe, a performance group, which raises money and donates it to various organizations.

Carla Midthun is graduating from Monona Grove High School and will attend UW-Whitewater. Carla is ranked 11th in her graduating class and has a cumulative GPA of 3.943. Carla is also the daughter of WPS employee Stan Midthun, Systems Support Analyst, WPS Member Services Madison office.
