WPS health & wellness center event takes place May 20
May 1, 2013
WPS Health Insurance, Wisconsin's leading not-for-profit health insurer and top provider of affordable individual health plans, is holding an invitation-only grand opening on May 20 for its new WPS Health & Wellness Center. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, cooking demonstration, and tours of the new facility.
"Our new clinic facility will be a convenient resource for our employees and will help promote good health and wellness," Dan Edge, vice president of medical affairs and operations, said. "The staff is highly skilled and ready to start seeing patients as soon as the clinic opens."
The WPS Health & Wellness Center, which opens to patients on May 6, is the result of a partnership between WPS and QuadMed, a nationwide leader in employer-sponsored health care.
"We've learned a lot from QuadMed," said Mike Hamerlik, WPS CEO and president, "and I think our new clinic is a model other businesses could follow."
The clinic will offer employees of WPS and its subsidiaries, along with their families, access to a full spectrum of medical care, including annual physicals and immunizations, preventive screenings, lab work, and wellness services.
